Manchester United eyes Serie A hitman as Cristiano Ronaldo replacement
Manchester United Football Club look to be already making plans Cristiano Ronaldo’s replacement.
CR7 was brought back to Old Trafford during the summer. But at 36 (now 37), there were reservations over how smart a move that actually was on Manchester United’s part.
For many it was seen as more of a cheap publicity stunt and one that only happened so the Portuguese would not join United’s city rivals.
And, so far, the decision to bring Ronaldo back to Manchester United looks to have been a poor one.
The ageing forward has never been known for his work off the ball, but, if the goals are flowing, teams can make an exception for one top-quality star’s lack of pressing.
Ronaldo, though, is not working hard off the ball and is now also not scoring goals.
The former Real Madrid man has scored just one goal in his last 10 outings across all competitions and matched an unwanted personal record recently.
“Cristiano Ronaldo has failed to score in his last five (5) appearances – his worst run without a club goal for over 11 years, since run of 5 at Real Madrid (May-Sept 2010).
No goals in his last 10 appearances, @premierleague sub apps, since 2 v Wigan in Dec 2006.

Now, reports coming out of Italy suggest Manchester United have already identified a Cristiano Ronaldo replacement.
As per FourFourTwo citing Tutto Napoli, Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has decided on the player he wants to lead the line at Old Trafford next season.
That player is Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. However, the Naples-based outfit are said to want €100m for their record signing, which is about £84m.
Osimhen would join Napoli from Lille in 2020 and has since scored 21 and assisted seven in 52 outings for the Serie A side.
